Johnnie Tran is the founder and CEO of Veicolo Agency.

Over the last decade, he has managed and influenced more than $500 million in online media spend across the world's most established advertising agencies and now through Veicolo. His work has spanned the darling DTC brands that broke the mold of the mid-2010s and the early athleisure brand that would go on to become the highest-valued privately owned apparel company in the world, with 80 retail locations and a $4 billion valuation. He led strategy on that account at $2 million per month in media spend.

Before marketing, he studied finance in New York and started his career on Wall Street in investment banking and trading. He liked the numbers. He didn't like the finance world. By the mid-2010s, he had moved into marketing, which turned out to be more financially heavy than most people working in it realized.

What he kept seeing across every agency he worked at was the same problem. The agencies didn't understand the finances of the brands they were serving. They talked in arbitrary marketing metrics. They optimized for the platform instead of the P&L. The big clients got all the attention. The smaller brands got the junior staff and the leftover hours. The agencies that claimed they were different still behaved the same way.

He founded Veicolo Agency in 2021 in Los Angeles to change the narrative on what a marketing agency could be. Not through better positioning. Through being true to the only thing that actually helps a brand: ensuring it is financially successful.

Five years and 80+ fashion brands later, Veicolo is self-funded, bootstrapped, and cash flow positive, working with elevated fashion and luxury consumer brands across the US, Canada, Latin America, Europe, and Australia.
